Introduction

The ability to withstand wear and corrosion is an important quality that is required in a wide range of industries, such as the aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, biomedical, and many more sectors. The need for materials and components with increased resistance to wear and corrosion has led to the development and deployment of advanced manufacturing techniques improvements in the field of advanced manufacturing techniques for wear. These advancements have occurred as a result of the demand for these types of materials and components. The purpose of this special issue is to offer a complete review of the most recent developments in cutting-edge manufacturing processes for the purpose of improving the materials' and components' resistance to wear and corrosion. It should make the transmission of information easier, it should stimulate new research, and it should lead to the creation of technologies that are more lasting and sustainable across a number of different industries. The purpose of this proposed special issue is to investigate the most recent developments in research, technology, and applications involving corrosion and wear resistance.
