Abstract
The present study describes the Bi (III) chloride catalyzed transformation of 4'-hydroxy-3',5'-dinitrochalcones into the corresponding benzoxazepines followed by sequential Michael addition using Bi (III) oxychloride as a procatalyst efficiently.
