Advancements in metaverse and blockchain technologies have revolutionized various sectors, from finance to gaming. However, their potential application in healthcare, particularly brain tumor research, remains largely unexplored. This research proposal aims to investigate the integration of metaverse and blockchain technologies to facilitate groundbreaking advancements in brain tumor study and treatment.The proposed research will commence with an in-depth analysis of existing brain tumor research methodologies and their limitations. By leveraging the decentralized and immutable nature of blockchain, we aim to establish a secure and transparent data-sharing platform, facilitating efficient collaboration between scientists, physicians, and patients. The metaverse, on the other hand, offers a unique environment that simulates brain structures and tumor growth, enabling researchers to perform in silico experiments and gain valuable insights. Key objectives of this study include: (1) Development of a distributed and standardized brain tumor database, encompassing patient medical records, genomic data, treatment outcomes, and radiological imaging, ensuring data integrity and privacy through blockchain technology; (2) Creation of a virtual metaverse for brain tumor modeling, enabling researchers to simulate various tumor scenarios, test treatment strategies, and optimize therapy interventions; (3) Investigation into the potential of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to incentivize patient participation, fostering a collaborative community for sharing personal health data securely. Through this interdisciplinary research, we aim to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technologies and brain tumor research, ultimately enhancing personalized medicine strategies. This innovation has the potential to improve treatment outcomes, accelerate drug discovery, and empower patients by granting control over their own health data. The combination of metaverse and blockchain technologies holds tremendous promise in transforming the landscape of brain tumor research and patient care, and this proposal intends to lay the foundation for its exploration.
