Introduction

To save our loving ‘Mother Nature’ from the ever increasing chemical pollution scientists are continuously modifying their chemical processes to make them sustainable. As a result, last decade has shown a tremendous outburst in modifying organic transformations by following green credentials. Catalysts play an important role in organic transformations. Involvement of non-toxic and reusable catalyst made a huge impact in organic transformations under greener conditions. On the other hand heterocyclic scaffolds are very important as they are very common in naturally occurring bioactive scaffolds as well as in the commercially available drug molecules. Various heterocyclic moieties on many occasions showed immense biological activities. That’s why various heterocyclic skeletons are getting huge attention in terms of new drug design and discovery. This thematic issue intends to highlight the current progress on the synthesis of various bioactive scaffolds with special emphasis on greener catalysis. Latest invention of drug molecules, bioactivity of various scaffolds and the process of drug discovery will also be highlighted in this special issue. The submitted Research Article/Review Article/Mini-review/Current Frontier should consist of novel approaches and related to recent advances. Topics related to the green and reusable catalytic systems are also welcome.
