Professor Richard C. Yang is an Associate Dean Research and HDR, Discipline Leader Mechanical, Mechatronics and Robotics and a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Smart Structures at the School of Engineering (SoEng), Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2002. His main research interests include advanced engineering materials, advanced manufacturing, Industry 4.0, multi-scale modelling and simulations of advanced engineering materials and structures, etc. He has published more than 200 scientific/conference papers and confidential reports for industrial partners in his main fields of research i.e mechanical engineering and materials engineering.
Professor Makoto Ogawa has been working on inorganic materials chemistry as a professor of Waseda University. Recently, he moved to Thailand as a full professor of School of Energy Science and Engineering, Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC), which opened in 2015 in Rayong, Thailand and continues his research activity in materials chemistry. One of his main interests is the preparation of nanoporous materials. He is a pioneer to successfully prepare mesoporous silica films in 1994. He has been interested in the host-guest chemistry of nanospace materials. He has been investigating how the spatial distribution of guest species affects the performance of the intercalation compounds of layered silicates and titanates.
Dr. Anjali Pal has made original and significant contributions in the arena of science and engineering. Dr. Pal has introduced both treated and untreated laterite soil, a naturally occurring earth’s crust, to remediate arsenic pollution in drinking water. The wonderful results have encouraged her to develop a low cost earthen filter to remove dangerously toxic arsenic (III and V) compounds from water bodies. Dr. Pal extended the idea of photoreaction on different pollutants to develop several analytical methods having high potential. Photoactivation (both UV and Visible) technique made Dr. Pal famous. Her developed methodology and later on photoreactor fabrication brought her a few international awards (Hall of Fame and R & D-100, USA).
Alves is professor, Inst. of Chemistry, State University of Campinas (Unicamp). He obtained his BSc (1974) and PhD (1977). He did postdoctoral work at Laboratory of Infrared and Raman Spectrochemistry of CNRS (France). His research on Raman spectroscopy, solid state chemistry and special glasses for optoelectronics later diversified into nanomaterials synthesis and their interactions with biosystems. He has advised over 50 PhD and MS theses. He has published over 230 peer-reviewed papers, and has been issued 30 patents. He served as President of Brazilian Chemical Society. His honours include: Brazilian Order for Scientific Merit (2002); Technology Innovation Award (2008); Inventor Award - Technology Absorbed by the Market (2011); Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (2015). He is member of Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Academy of Sciences of São Paulo State and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS).
The research interest of Hani Abdelhamid is focused broadly on science and technology at the nanoscale and material science to push scientific boundaries in diverse areas of materials science, chemistry, biomedicine, biotechnology, catalysis and laser-based analytical methods. Francesca Borghi is a fellow researcher in the Department of Physics at the University of Milano, and at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Nanostructured Materials and Interfaces (CIMaINa). She graduated in Physics in 2011 from the University of Milano, and she obtained her PhD in Physics in 2015 from the same university. Her main work deals with the characterization of the interfacial chemico-physical properties of nanostructured thin films, produced by low-energy clusters beam deposition in the gas phase, and the non-linear electrical properties of nanostructured thin film for neuromorphic applications.
Dr. Faheem K. Butt is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Physics at University of Education Lahore. Before joining University of Education he was an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow in Technical University Munich, Germany. He completed his Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from Centre for Sustainable Nanomaterials, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2015. He was conferred Ph.D. degree from Beijing Institute of Technology, China in 2014. His research interest is in Energy storage/conversion and Optoelectronics devices. Prof. Qingliang Feng is an associate professor in the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Northwestern Polytechnical University. He has been selected as one of the "Aoxiang New Star" of Northwestern Polytechnical University and the sixth "Young Talent Promotion Project" of China Association for Science and Technology. He has been working on new mechanisms and methods for large scale production of 2D materials, interface modulation and application of optoelectronic devices. He has published more than 50 academic papers in top journals of materials science such as Adv. Mater., ACS Nano and Small, with more than 4000 citations and more than 10 national invention patents applied/granted.
Dr. Jue Gong obtained his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry-Nanotechnology from Northern Illinois University, USA in 2018. He later pursued postdoctoral training at Brown University and Florida State University. He is currently an Associate Professor in materials science and engineering at School of Materials and Energy, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. His research has been focusing on perovskite solar cells and the corresponding nanotechnology/material chemistry studies, with other specialties also including atomic layer deposition and high-pressure materials physics and chemistry.
Dr. Liang Li received his Ph.D. degree in materials physics and chemistry from Institute of Solid State Physics (ISSP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), in 2015. After graduation, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in High Magnetic Field Center, CAS, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) from 2015–2018, and as a full professor in Anhui University from 2018-2021. In 2022, he joined Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, CAS as a full professor. His research interests focus on the electronics and optoelectronics based on two-dimensional materials.
Dr. Xin Li works as Postdoctoral Research Fellow in DWI-Leibniz-Institute for Interactive Materials e.V. He is an Executive Chairman of Deutsch-Chinesische Technische Verein für die Unternehmen und Innovation e.V. in 2018, and Youth Talent Ambassador of Hangzhou City in 2019. He is the Youth Editor Board Member/Guest Editor/Reviewer for dozens of SCI-index journals. He has published 50+ research articles/book chapters, 100+ patents, and 20+ international/national awards. Dr. Jianmin Li received his Ph.D. degree in materials science and engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2016. From 2017 to 2020, he was working at the Chinese University of Hong Kong as a post-doctoral research fellow. He is now a research associate professor at the school of physics and technology at Wuhan University. His research focuses on the development of high-efficiency thin-film solar cells including CIGS, CZTS, and Sb2(S,Se)3.
Dr. Lu is a professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Rowan University. He received his Ph.D. in Agricultural & Environmental Chemistry from the University of California Davis. He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Washington University in St. Louis and the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research involves the synthesis, fabrication and characterization of polymeric and inorganic nanostructures for energy, environmental and health applications. Dr. Wei Ni (Max) received his B.E. from Zhengzhou University in 2005, and his Ph.D. from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS) in 2011. After several research fellow/faculty experiences including at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), CAEP, and University of Oulu (Finland), PZH Univ. He is now a research scientist at State Key Laboratory of Vanadium and Titanium Resources Comprehensive Utilization, ANSTEEL Research Institute of Vanadium and Titanium (Iron and Steel). He has co-authored over 50 SCI papers including 6 highly cited papers with an h-index of 22, i10-index of 33, citation > 2000, and 6 book chapters. His research interests include advanced nanomaterials for energy storage/conversion and environmental protection.
Professor Wang Xiaohua received his Ph.D from School of Electrical Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University in June 2006, and he was promoted to Professor in 2013 at the same University. He mainly carries out the research on the condition monitoring and life assessment of electrical equipment, which including sensor technology, signal processing technology and artificial intelligence technology. From Sept 2011 to Sept 2012, he was a visitor scholar at Loughborough University, in UK. In 2017, he was selected as the young scholars in the Yangtze River scholars award program of the Ministry of education (200 per year in China).
Cheng-Fu Yang was the first one to be a distinguished professor of National University of Kaohsiung, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He was a fellow of “The Institution of Engineering and Technology” (IET) in 2015, and the “Chair Inviting Professor” of Jimei University in 2017. He was the Editorial board member of dozen journals and the Guest editor of eight SCI journals. His current researches focus on ceramic-polymer composites, ferroelectric ceramics, dielectric and TCO thin films, silicon-based thin film and CIGS (CIS) solar cells, inorganic optical ceramics, nanotubes, and nanowires. Qiang Zhang received his B.E., M.E. and Ph.D. degrees from Xidian University in 1994, 1999 and 2002, respectively. He was a post doctorate in School of Mechanical Engineering, Dalian University of Technology. He currently serves as dean of the School of Computer Science at Dalian University of Technology. He has published over 300 papers with over 6000 citations and H index of 37, i10 index of 125. Currently, Dr. Yongjun Feng is a full professor in Beijing University of Chemical Technology and is one of key members at State Key Laboratory of Chemical Resource Engineering. Dr. César Fernández-Sánchez holds a PhD in Chemistry (1999) from the University of Oviedo (Spain). Currently, he is the Head of the Chemical Transducers (gtq.imb-cnm.csic.es/en) at Instituto de Microelectrónica de Barcelona (IMB-CNM; www.imb-cnm.csic.es), CSIC, where he holds a permanent position as a Senior Researcher. Shunichi Fukuzumi received Ph.D. degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1978. After a post-doctoral position in USA, he joined the faculty at Osaka University in 1981. He was promoted to a Full Professor in 1994. He is now a Distinguished Professor at Ewha Womans University and a Professor Emeritus at Osaka University. Mohamed Henini obtained his first degree at the University of Oran, Algeria. He went to Nottingham University and was awarded the PhD degree in 1984. Mohamed has over 25 years of experience in Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) growth. His particular speciality is the physics and technology of MBE growth for III-V electronic and optoelectronic devices. He has authored and co-authored over 800 papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He has an h-index of 45.

Professor Hong received his Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London, U.K. in 1987. He is currently in charge of the Green Energy/Quantum Engineering Lab, and Intelligent Green Vehicle Lab in the Power Mechanical Engineering Department, National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan. His research area includes molecular engineering, fuel cell engineering, solar cell/LED, combustion engines, automotive engineering, and bio-photonics which are all based on academic fundamentals of Quantum Mechanics, Molecular Dynamics, Boltzmann Modeling, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and System Dynamics. Apart from academic researches, he has been actively conducting researches with motor companies and various research institutes. He was the general chairman of the AVEC 2006 and APEnergy2016, and organizers/co-organizers of various international conferences. Currently, he serves as a scientific committee member and editors for many organizations and academic journals.
Dr. Michael Z. Hu is a Senior Research Staff Member at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Meanwhile, he is appointed as the Bredesen Center Faculty Professor and CBE Department Adjunct Professor at the University of Tennessee. He is the Founder Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Nanomaterials. He is a team lead for a Department of Energy (DOE) program that has won a R&D100 Award on advanced membrane technology. Dr. Christian W. Huck currently holds a position of full professor for analytical chemistry at Leopold-Franzens University of Innsbruck, Austria. Currently, Prof. Huck is also guest professor at Kwansei Gakuin University (Sanda, Hyogo, Japan). Ioannis G. Karafyllidis received the Dipl. Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Jumras Limtrakul is currently President of the Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology. After earning his Ph.D. at Innsbruck in 1984, Dr. Limtrakul spent a couple of years doing research at the Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry at Karlsruhe University in Germany, and then carried out his research on nanotechnology as a Visiting Professor at the University of Bordeaux, France.
He is the recipient of many honors and awards, including the Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow, Germany, National Outstanding Researcher Award (1998), Thailand Outstanding Scientist Award (2003), NSTDA Chair Professor (2009), and National Outstanding Person of the Year (2010). Lioua Kolsi is currently a Full Professor in the mechanical engineering department, University of Ha'il Saudi, Arabia. Dr. Chuan-Pu Liu received his PhD degree from Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy in University of Cambridge in 1998. Following that, he took a post-doc researcher at Materials Research Lab in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for two years. He then joined Department of Materials Science and Engineering at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan in 2000. He serves as a distinguished professor at the same department now. He has published about 200 journal papers. His current research interests include semiconductor nanomaterials, TEM atomic scale imaging, nano-devices, piezotronic and thermoelectric devices, lithium ion battery, gas and chemical sensors.
Dr. Ikai Lo is a professor of Physics Department, and Director of Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, National Sun Yat-Sen University, Kaohsiung 80424, Taiwan. He received his BS degree in Physics, National Tsing Hua University, Hsin-Chu, Taiwan (1980), and Ph.D. degree in Physics, State University of New York at Buffalo, NY, USA (1989). He served as a National Research Council (Washington, D.C.) post-doctoral fellow in Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, USA (1989-1993) with an honor of National Research Council (Washington D.C., USA) associateship award. He became a faculty of Physics Department, National Sun Yat-Sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan since 1989, and served as Chairman of Physics Department (2000-2002) and Dean of Science (2011-2014).
Dr. Satyabrata Mohapatra obtained his Ph.D. from Institute of Physics (IOP), Bhubaneswar, India. After a postdoc from IUAC, New Delhi, India, visiting scientist from SAINT, South Korea and visiting fellow from CSNSM, Orsay, France he joined Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, India where he is now heading the Multifunctional Nanomaterials Laboratory. He is a Member of the National Academy of Sciences, India. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and edited one book. His research is focused on the development of multifunctional hybrid nanostructures, metal oxide and 2D nanomaterial based hybrid plasmonic nanostructures and nanocomposites for applications in photocatalysis, catalysis, gas sensing, SERS, biosensing, antimicrobials and water purification.
Minh Nguyen is a Senior Research Engineer in the Sensors and Electronics Laboratory at HRL Laboratories. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University and helped positions in diverse research environment such as Research Assistant Professor at Northwestern University. He has over 10 years of focused experience in developing superlattice–based infrared detectors and imagers, encompassing the areas of device modeling/design, epitaxial growth, device fabrication and testing. Nguyen has been PM/PI for a number of research projects using III-V superlattice material systems for infrared detection and topological quantum computation. He has authored/co-authored six book chapters, more than 80 technical papers with over 2700 citations and an h-index of 32.
Professor Perry obtained her undergraduate and DPhil research degrees in chemistry from the University of Oxford, UK where she also held a junior research fellowship. She has held permanent academic positions at Brunel University and Nottingham Trent University where she is currently a research professor. She has held fellowships/ visiting professorships in Israel (Weizmann Institute), France (Université Pierre et Marie Curie), Germany (KIT) and USA (Suny, Buffalo and Radcliffe Institute, Harvard). Teng Qiu received his BS in chemistry from Nanjing University, China in 2002 and PhD in condensed matter physics from Nanjing University in 2007. He is currently a full professor of physics at Southeast University, China. In 2010, he was an Alexander von Humboldt fellow in the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research in Dresden, Germany. His current research focuses on surface-enhanced spectroscopy. He has authored and co-authored about 100 refereed journal publications.

Currently he heads Laboratory of Physics and Mechanics of Soft Matter at the Institute of Continuous Media Mechanics of Perm Federal Research Center, Ural Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, Perm and also holds a part-time position of Research Professor at Ural Federal University, Ekaterinburg. Prof. Rodríguez-Castellón is Full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Málaga and President of the Inorganic Division of the Royal Society of Chemistry of Spain. Sachindra Nath Sarangi is a senior member of Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, India working as Scientific Officer since 1991. Dr. Pedro A. Serena obtained the Ph.D. in Physics from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain. Currently Dr. Serena is Researcher at the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid (ICMM), that belongs to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). He has published more than 90 scientific publications and more than 80 publications related to scientific dissemination, science policies and technology transfer. Currently Dr. Serena is Institutional Coordinator of CSIC for the region of Madrid, and he is the Director of the Theoretical Physics and Mathematics (a joint research center promoted by four academic institutions CSIC-UAM-UCM-UC3M).

Dr. Luciano Paulino Silva is biologist and obtained a Ph.D. degree in Animal Biology from the University of Brasilia. Dr. Silva is currently a Researcher at Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology working on area of Nanobiotechnology applied to agriculture and biomedical fields developing projects on prospection of biomolecules, development of nanosystems and 3D bioprinting. Dr. Suneel Kumar Srivastava received his post graduate diploma in ‘High pressure technology and technical gas reactions’ and PhD in the field of ‘Solid state chemistry’ from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 1979 and 1986, respectively. He is currently Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. His research interests are in the fields of zero, one and two dimensional semiconducting and magnetic nanomaterials for their applications in energy and the environment, polymers and polymer blends and their structure-property relationships. Prof. Reshef Tenne received his PhD in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1976. Following a three years post-doctoral period in Battelle Institute in Geneva he joined the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot in 1979 and was promoted to a professor in 1995. In 1992 he discovered the first kind of inorganic nanotubes made of WS2. His technology which is protected by 35 patents was licensed to several companies. He is a member of the Israel Academy of Science and Humanities and Academia Europaea and a recipient of numerous honors and prizes. Bernd Wicklein got his MSc. in Materials Science from Stuttgart University (Germany) in 2007 and his Doctoral Degree from the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain) in 2011. Esmaeal Ghavanloo is currently Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Shiraz University, Iran. He received B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Shiraz University in 2007, 2009 and 2013, respectively, all in Mechanical Engineering. He is author of more than 65 peer-reviewed articles in the areas of nonlocal elasticity theory, mechanics of nanostructures, nanocomposite material and cellular biomechanics. He is also an active reviewer of several scientific and international journals. He has been awarded the Outstanding Contribution In Reviewing certificate by Elsevier for reviewing services of International Journal of Mechanical Sciences and Applied mathematical Modelling. He has made important contributions to the application of the nonlocal elasticity theory to the nanoscopic structures. His book Computational Continuum Mechanics of Nanoscopic Structures: Nonlocal Elasticity Approaches has been published by the Springer International Publishing in 2019.
Dr. Saeid Kakooei is presently serving as a head of Centre for Corrosion Research (CCR) and senior lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Department at University Technology PETRONAS. He received his PhD in Mechanical (Corrosion) Engineering from University Technology PETRONAS, Malaysia in 2014, MSc in Corrosion Engineering and BSc in Material Engineering from Iran in 2006 and 1999, respectively. Dr. Tanveer Saleh has been serving as an Assoc. Prof. in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at the International Islamic University, Malaysia. Prior to joining IIUM, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the University of British Columbia, Canada. He completed his PhD in 2009 from the National University of Singapore. Dr. Tanveer’s research interest includes Carbon nanostructure (CNTs, VACNTs) and their applications, micro and nano machining, manufacturing automation. During his postdoctoral research at UBC. Dr. Tanveer worked mostly on micro-patterning of Carbon Nanotube Forest also known as Vertically Aligned Carbon Nanotubes (VACNTs). He is continuing his research on micro-patterning of VACNTs for sensor fabrication in IIUM.
Dr. Ajay Singh Verma (Ph.D.- Physics), now is an Assistant professor of Physics, Life Member of Indian Physics Association and High Energy Materials Society of India. He got his B Sc in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, M Sc in Physics (Electronics and Communication), Specialization in Condensed Matter Physics Doctor's degree (Ph.D.) at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University Agra (India), and completed his Post Doctoral Research at Panjab University Chandigarh (India).
Mohammad Azadi received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in mechanical engineering from Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran and K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, respectively, in 2006 and 2008; later, a PhD degree in mechanical engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2013 during which was awarded an exchange program by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and also Irankhodro Powertrain Company, in order to perform a fatigue testing project in University of Leoben, Leoben, Austria, 2012. From 2008 to 2015, he has worked in Irankhodro Powertrain Company, Tehran, Iran and for the last two years, he was a project manager of a national turbo-charged engine. Since 2015, he has been an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Semnan University, Semnan, Iran and now is an Associate Professor, since 2019. He is the author of two chapter-books, two conference proceedings, more than 90 journal articles, about 110 conference papers and 12 patents. His research interests include solid mechanics, fatigue, fracture and creep, numerical methods, surface engineering, materials characterization, design of experiments, with the application of engine, aerospace and automotive industries, besides biomechanics. Nowadays, he is working on additive manufacturing to fabricate composites and nano-composites by 3D-printing, in order to evaluate fatigue properties of materials.
Dragana Tomašević Pilipović received his Ph.D. in Environmental Protection Science, Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. She is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. Her research field revolves around water, soil and sediment analysis, treatment of wastewater and water processes, treatment of sediment and different waste contaminated with toxic metals and effectiveness assessment of applied treatments, and environmental risk assessment. She has published some articles and chapters in well-reputed journals.
Wenxiu Que received his Ph.D. in Electronic Science and Technology from Xi’an Jiaotong University, P. R. China. Currently, he is a Professor at the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University, P. R. China. And e) Intelligent Systems, i.e. Smart Farm, Smart Cars, and Smart Home. He has received over 25 research awards. He has served as a reviewer for several scientific journals. He has published several dozens of articles in reputed journals and proceedings as well as book chapters with patents & copyrights.
