Abstract
The term “neurodegenerative disorders” refers to a broad category of pathological ailments that occur from increasing damage to the connections between the nervous system and the neurons. These disorders primarily affect neuronal malfunction and cause issues with strength, mobility, cognition, coordination, and sensation. Because of the body's need for and use of oxygen, the brain is susceptible to a variety of challenges, most notably oxidative stress. Potential neuroprotective drugs for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders have been identified in natural products. Natural products derived from plants, animals, and fungi as well as the bioactive compounds they contain have been thoroughly investigated and studied in recent years for potential therapeutic uses against a range of disorders, including cancer, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and neurodegenerative diseases. The body's need for and usage of oxygen can lead to oxidative stress, which is one of the stresses that can affect the brain. The brain's high content of unsaturated fatty acids makes it more vulnerable. Crucial goals include addressing oxidative damage and developing effective and safe therapies for neurodegenerative diseases. Research into bioactive chemicals is essential to this endeavor.
